Portland, Oregon

After jestsetting economy class style to Las Vegas and New York City we headed to our next location to relax.
That location is a place affectionately known as P-town, Stumptown, Rip-City, Rose City ...., Portland, Oregon.

Portland was an easy choice for us. It was a mid-size city close to nature. It was away from the bright lights and herds of people.



We stayed at the Avalon Resort and Spa. The hotel is located on the Willamette River south of downtown Portland in John's Landing. The hotel is located in an obscure area surrounded by office buildings, riverside condos and strip malls. Kind of weird when you first visit. The area is quiet at night and in the morning.

We got a riverview room with a balcony. It was relaxing to wake up an see the calming banks of the Willamette River.




The residents of Portland are really friendly. In fact, we were greeted by a new friend.
